The trunk cover still closes
- The included EVA vent tabs raise the sub-trunk cover by about ¼ inch so the compressor can breathe with the cover back in place. You keep a flat load floor and can still stack bags on top.
- They are optional. Wells with a looser fit already have that gap. Tesla has revised the Model Y sub-trunk several times, so we ship the tabs with every unit to cover every version.

Using the CFridge app
- Open the app and tap Connect each time you want to control the fridge. The app connects fresh every session rather than staying paired in the background — this is normal, not a fault.
- If you own more than one CARFROZEN fridge, select the unit you want from the list before changing the temperature.
Troubleshooting
- F2 error (flashing display and beeping): press SET and change the setting from H to L, turn the fridge off, unplug the power cable completely, then plug it back in and switch it on. Repeated resets on their own will not clear the code.
- Stopped cooling on a trip: check the 12V plug first — make sure it is seated firmly in the outlet and that the fuse inside the plug is intact. A loose plug is the most common cause of a fridge that shows a temperature but is not running.
How to control temperature with the Cfridge app
Before you can change the set temperature, connect the app to the fridge once over Bluetooth.
- Open the Cfridge app and tap Start searching.
- When your fridge appears (device ID like
SZ_...), tap Connect. - After it connects, you will see Current temperature and the Set temperature slider.
- Press and hold the round slider handle and drag it up or down to set the target temperature (or use - / +).
Why temperature rises when the car is parked
Fridge Y / Fridge X / Fridge W need continuous 12V power from the car to run the compressor and hold temperature.
When a Tesla is locked or left parked, it often turns off accessory power after a while. The compressor stops, and the inside temperature will slowly rise. This is normal vehicle power behavior, not a failed compressor.
Please Note:
To keep the refrigerator powered after leaving and locking the vehicle, go to Controls > Charging and enable Keep Accessory Power On.
This feature is unavailable when the vehicle is in Low Power Mode and will increase energy consumption.
(Older software may use related names such as Camp Mode or Sentry Mode to keep accessory power available; prefer Keep Accessory Power On when your car shows it.)
If the outlet stays powered and the fridge still will not hold temperature, contact support.

How to ensure normal operation when parking
To keep Fridge Y running while your Tesla Model Y is parked, enable “Keep Accessory Power On” under Controls > Charging. This allows the vehicle’s low-voltage outlets to remain powered when no one is in the vehicle. Availability may vary by vehicle configuration and software version.
How does Fridge Y connect to power in Tesla Model Y?
Fridge Y plugs directly into the low-voltage power outlet in the rear trunk. No modification or installation is required—just plug it in, set your desired temperature, and start cooling.
Can Fridge Y be used in other vehicles with a 12V outlet?
Yes. Fridge Y can also be used in other vehicles equipped with a compatible 12V or 24V power outlet, making it useful beyond your Tesla Model Y.
Why can't I adjust the refrigerator temperature?
Please make sure the refrigerator is in MAX mode, because the temperature cannot be adjusted in ECO mode as we designed it.
Why can't the mobile phone app find the refrigerator?
1. Check Bluetooth and Location Settings:
- Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile phone.
- Make sure that location services (GPS) are turned on as well.
2. Reinstall the App:
- If the issue persists, try uninstalling the app from your mobile phone.
- Download and reinstall the app from the app store.
Can Fridge Y be powered by other power sources?
Yes. In addition to vehicle power, Fridge Y can be powered by compatible portable power stations or other 12V/24V DC power sources. With the optional AC adapter, it can also be used from a standard household outlet.
Does Fridge Y use a compressor or thermoelectric cooling?
Fridge Y uses a compressor refrigeration system, providing fast and efficient cooling and allowing it to operate as either a refrigerator or freezer.
Can Fridge Y run overnight, and how much power does it use?
Yes. Fridge Y can run continuously as long as it has a stable power supply. Power consumption varies depending on the set temperature, ambient temperature, and how often the compressor cycles. When parked, supported Tesla Model Y vehicles can use “Keep Accessory Power On” to keep the low-voltage outlet powered.
Will Fridge Y drain the vehicle battery quickly when parked?
Fridge Y is designed for efficient compressor operation and cycles on and off after reaching the set temperature. When using it while parked, the vehicle will consume some energy to keep accessory power available. We recommend monitoring your Tesla’s battery level during extended use.
What could be causing my refrigerator to not cool properly, and how can I fix it?
Refrigeration issues can be categorized into three types: slow refrigeration, failure to refrigerate, and incorrect temperature display. Here’s how to diagnose and address each issue:
- Slow Refrigeration:
Possible Causes:
- High ambient temperature or overcrowding inside the refrigerator.
Solution:
- Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the refrigerator.
- Place the refrigerator in a cooler environment if possible.
- Reduce the amount of food stored inside and allow space for better air circulation.
- Failure to Refrigerate:
Possible Causes:
- Insufficient refrigerant or compressor malfunction.
Solution:
- Check if the refrigerator compressor is operational.
- Set the refrigerator temperature to -4°F (-20°C) and place a cup of water inside.
- After twelve hours, check if the water is frozen.

- Incorrect Temperature Display:

How to solve the F2 error in the refrigerator?
Make sure Fridge Y is in L position, otherwise F2 will be displayed.
How do I solve the F4 and F5 errors in the refrigerator?
The F4 and F5 errors indicate poor heat dissipation, typically occurring when the ambient temperature around the refrigerator exceeds 120°F (49°C). Here are steps to resolve these errors:
1.Increase Ventilation:
- Improve the ventilation around the refrigerator.
- Ensure there is adequate airflow to help dissipate heat effectively.

- If using the refrigerator in a car, avoid placing it in a confined space or groove.
