This fridge fits like a glove in my model y. It’s also easy to operate and the phone app is simple and makes it easy, too. I’m looking forward to using it on a 3600 mile round trip next week.
Great product. Perfect fit into the 2026 Tesla Model Y sub trunk. Excellent volume/storage capacity compared to other options we had been looking at prior to finding this one. Very hot days and food/groceries remain cold for the drive home. Also nice to know we can put liquids in there and not worry about any spills onto the carpet in the sub trunk.
Fits perfectly in subtrunk and includes foam wedge inserts to support the fridge along the tapered Model X subtrunk. Cools to 0C from room temp in 30 minutes or less. Very quiet. Positive strong latch to keep lid closed. … Really happy with unit.
I didn't even know this space existed until I got the Cooler Y — it's basically custom-made for the Model Y. Just drop it into the trunk's hidden sub-trunk well, close the cover, and it's completely invisible. … It takes up zero trunk space.
It works like a charm I really enjoy it.
Fits perfect runs well

Tesla’s sub-trunk is a deep well under the rear cargo floor. CARFROZEN units are sized to sit inside it, so your cargo floor stays flat and usable.
Fridge Y ships with EVA vent tabs that lift the cover ~¼ in so the compressor can breathe — the cover still closes and you can stack bags on top.
Holds a set temperature from -4°F to 50°F regardless of outside heat. ECO and MAX modes.
Free CFridge app (iOS / Android) over Bluetooth, plus an LED panel on the unit.
Summarized from our published policies.
Fridge Y and Fridge X use roughly 0.9 kWh per day (ECO 36 W / MAX 45 W on Fridge Y). For Fridge W, the brand’s test measured 28 hours of use ≈ 1% of battery, or about 3.4 EV miles. Cooler Y uses no power at all.
The fridge needs continuous 12V power. Tesla often cuts accessory power when locked or parked, so go to Controls > Charging > Keep Accessory Power On. It isn’t available in Low Power Mode and increases energy use. On older software, Camp Mode keeps the outlet powered; owners report Sentry Mode alone may not.
Drop-in: lift the sub-trunk cover, set the unit in, plug it in. No drilling, brackets or trimming. Fridge X is a deliberately snug fit and comes with two foam blocks that level it on the uneven Model X floor — keep them. Push Fridge X to the left so the right-side vent stays clear.
Yes, both fit the Model Y L. Set the unit in the sub-trunk well and press it firmly down until it seats. It can sit about 1 inch high until it’s pressed in. Both also fit the 5-seat Model Y (2020–2024 and 2025–2026 Juniper). In a 7-seat Model Y the unit sits more than 1 inch above the floor, so the sub-trunk cover won’t sit flush.
Fridge X fits Tesla Model X 2016–2026, except Model X 6-seat versions built after June 2025 (not compatible). All other Model X from 2016–2026 are fine.
Fridge Y, X and W: -4°F to 50°F, usable as a fridge or freezer. Fridge Y/X go from 50°F to -4°F in about 30 minutes; Fridge W in under 60 minutes.
Yes. The included EVA vent tabs raise the cover about ¼ inch for airflow and you keep a flat load floor. They’re optional on wells that already have a looser fit.
Every CarFrozen product (Fridge Y, Fridge X, Fridge W, Fridge 3 and Cooler Y) comes with a 12-Month Limited Warranty. You can return new, unused items in their original packaging within 30 days, with no restocking fee. Email hello@carfrozen.com first. If the item arrived damaged or defective, or you got the wrong item, we send a prepaid return label.
Fridge W comes with an AC adapter (for 110V outlets) and a car charger in the box. Fridge Y and Fridge X include a DC car cable, and the CarFrozen AC adapter is sold separately for $55. A spare DC 12V cable is $35. Cooler Y is power-free, so it doesn’t need any power.
Up to 7 days with ice. In our lab test (report JG-TR-E-057-003, Aug 2025), two units filled with ice frozen for 24 hours kept ice for 168 hours in a climate room held at 90°F (32°C) and 50% humidity. Separately, in a creator’s video test (MyModelYAdventure), about 40 lb of ice filled to the top still had ice on the evening of day 7 in an uninsulated Chicago-area garage at roughly 79–88°F, with the lid opened morning and night. It was fully melted by midday on day 8. How long it lasts for you depends on how much ice you use, how often you open it, and the heat. See both tests

We tested Fridge Y and Cooler Y in a Model Y L. Set the unit in the sub-trunk well and press it firmly down until it seats. It can sit about 1 inch high until it’s pressed in.

A Model Y owner ran Fridge Y for 14 h 41 min on the rear 12V outlet. The car lost 4% of its charge, and the fridge cooled from 82°F to 30°F, then held 35–37°F overnight.
